About ChatGPT plan usage ↗
LickBag logo

A playground for your next phrase.

LickBag is an early jazz improvisation MVP. Its local symbolic composer builds original single-voice melodies from chord tones, scale movement, and chromatic approaches.

ChatGPT plan generation is awaiting OpenAI approval for this hosted app. Account sign-in alone does not enable it. The local composer remains available and recognizes style, difficulty, key, bar count, tempo, and simple mood cues. Structured controls take priority.

Playback uses sampled grand piano, tenor sax, jazz guitar, and upright bass from FluidR3 GM. Pure tone remains available as a lightweight alternative. Notation is in concert pitch and exports use straight eighth notes. Licks are stored in this browser; export a copy to keep them elsewhere.

Soundfont: FluidR3 GM by Frank Wen, rendered by Benjamin Gleitzman, under CC BY 3.0 US. Samples are bundled locally; sax sustain is crossfaded during playback. Full credits & license details ↗
