# FluidR3 GM soundfont credits

LickBag includes sampled **acoustic grand piano, tenor saxophone, jazz guitar, and acoustic upright bass** from **FluidR3 GM**, originally created by **Frank Wen**. The browser-ready MP3 renderings are distributed by **Benjamin Gleitzman** in the MIDI.js Soundfonts project.

## Commercial use

CC BY 3.0 US permits redistribution and adaptation, including commercial use, with attribution and the other license conditions. Preserve this credit, the source and license links, and the bundled notices when redistributing these assets. No endorsement by the original creators is implied. Samples remain under their own licenses, not any proprietary terms applied to the surrounding app.

## Changes in LickBag

The four instrument sets were selected from the pinned upstream revision. The 88 notes from A0 through C8 were extracted from the upstream JavaScript data-URI files into separate MP3 files **without re-encoding or modifying the MP3 bytes**. The app loads only the notes it needs. A manifest records upstream and per-note SHA-256 checksums.

During playback, LickBag applies gain envelopes and uses a crossfaded sustain region for extended saxophone notes. Piano, guitar, and bass retain their sampled natural decay. These are single-velocity General MIDI samples, not a multi-velocity acoustic instrument library. MIDI exports contain instrument program changes and notes, not the samples themselves.
